Starry Eyed is a watercolor class to teach you how to create dreamy eyes for your portraits. We will learn how to draw the eye with graphite, paint with watercolor, and lastly finish with colored pencils.

Whenever I feel lost or stuck creatively, I will draw eye studies to spark my creativity. This class is made to help you relax and create in a peaceful setting. I will be sharing my favorite ways to draw and paint the eye. You will learn how to shade and add contrast for a dreamy look.

This class isn’t about making the perfect eye, it’s about experimenting with your supplies and pushing your imagination. Sometimes, I have paintings that don’t go well but I always learn something from them. If not, it’s a warm-up for something better.

Lessons:

Lesson 1: Drawing with Graphite In our first lesson, we will go over the basics and learn to shade. I will show you a few ways to make a regular eye have a moody appearance.

Lesson 2: Drawing the Eye in Colored Pencil: We will learn how to layer color and create details.

Lesson 3: Layering with Watercolors: We will learn how to use layers of colorful watercolor to build the eye up for our final layer.

Lesson 4: How to Make the Eye Match : I will share my top tips and techniques on how to make the eyes look the same.

Lesson 5: How to Draw & Paint the Face : I will share how to draw a face from beginning to end, then we will paint with watercolor.
