New Class Announcement - Girls In Pencil Series

Good Morning friends,

I'm starting a new series: "Girls in Pencil: How to Create Complex Faces with Simple Drawing Techiques".  The first lesson covers how to draw braids.  This new video drawing series is an addition to my "How to Draw Faces Workbook".  You asked for videos and you got it!  I also thought it would be fun to explore creative hairstyles that look really hard but are simple once broken down.

The first lesson is called "Braided up".  If you are interested in how to draw braids this lesson is for you.  I will take you step-by-step through the drawing process and give you my best tips along the way.

I know we are all short on time so I've broken each lesson into shorter videos so that they are easy to follow along.  She can be drawn in an afternoon and you can take the same tips and apply them over and over again!

Take the Warm-Up

Print the worksheet & follow along below!

Now you are ready to draw.  Join the class today!

Early bird $25.00 Ends on Feb 21st.

[Video] Mermaid Marker Tutorial - How to Create Wind-Swept Hair

I was asked over on FB how I create wind-blown hair - I tried to answer in the comments and I figured why not just create a mermaid marker tutorial.  So I did!  Grab your markers (or watercolors) and let's get started.

I'm also using Jane Davenport's mermaid markers and magic wands (colored pencils).  I really like these so far. The colors are vibrant and can be mixed together for a lot of color variations.

For the skin, I used Artist's Loft watercolor paints and for the line work I used the Faber-Castel PITT pen.

This video is from start to finish so let me know if you give it a try.

Don't be afraid to add more layers and your own color combo.  If you liked this video then would love my watercolor florals class.  Check it out here.
